Name: Neal Bobruff
Lives in: Stonington
Years running: 15 years
Favorite running route: The Al Harvey/184/ Wheeler Road/ Pequot Trail 6.3 mile loop in Stonington, because so many will say River Road, Mystic, which I love too.
Favorite race: Covered Bridges Half Marathon in Vermont. I have run it 13 times. My favorite local-race is Battle of Stonington 5K
Couldn’t live without: SpiBelt. I like to be safe and run with my phone and keys, although I have never heard of a runner’s car being stolen by someone who found the keys underneath one of the tires.
Most fun moment running: Lingering at the finish line with two of my favorite people and running partners, Amby Burfoot and Kip Parker, after we all finished running the 2014 Boston Marathon. The crowd is always amazing, but especially so the first year after the bombings. I run Boston as a fundraiser for cancer research at Dana-Farber and in my 4 Boston Marathons have raised over $120,000.00 , so I always feel wonderful after Boston, no matter what my finishing time or physical condition.
